A few days after my book came out, I received a text from a friend: “I haven’t made it past this page yet. I just spent 20 minutes googling these impressive people.”
The dedication was the very last part of my book that I wrote. I wanted it to honor the people who inspired me to do the work I do, whose lives provide lessons that sustain me even in the hardest moments. There was no other choice than to dedicate the book to my grandparents. But five words doesn’t do them justice, so I’m sharing more about their stories here.
